 Vanilla Buttercream Frosting

 Ingredients:

– 1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
– 4 cups (480g) powdered sugar, sifted
– 1/4 cup (60ml) heavy cream or milk
– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
– A pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions:

1. **Beat the Butter:**
– In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter on medium speed with an electric mixer until it becomes creamy and smooth, about 3-4 minutes.

2. **Add Powdered Sugar:**
– Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, one cup at a time, beating on low speed until it is fully combined with the butter. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.

3. **Add Liquid Ingredients:**
– Add the heavy cream (or milk), vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt (if using). Beat on low speed until incorporated, then increase the speed to medium-high and continue beating for another 3-4 minutes until the frosting is light and fluffy.

4. **Adjust Consistency:**
– If the frosting is too thick, add more cream or milk, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency. If it’s too thin, add more powdered sugar.

5. **Use or Store:**
– Use the frosting immediately to frost cakes, cupcakes, or other desserts. If you’re not using it right away, you can store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Before using, bring it back to room temperature and re-whip it to restore its creamy texture.

This buttercream frosting is perfect for piping or spreading, and you can easily customize it by adding different flavorings or colors. Enjoy decorating your desserts!
