 Sweet and Spicy Glazed Meatballs

Ingredients:

– **For the Meatballs:**
– 1 lb ground beef or ground pork (or a mix)
– 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
– 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– 1 egg
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
– 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

– **For the Glaze:**
– 1/2 cup chili sauce
– 1/2 cup grape jelly (or any fruit jelly of your choice)
– 1/4 cup soy sauce
– 1 tablespoon sriracha or hot sauce (adjust for desired heat)
– 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
– 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
– 1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper (optional, for garnish)
– 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro (optional, for garnish)

 Instructions:

1. **Prepare the Meatballs:**
– Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
– In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped onion, parsley, salt, and pepper.
– Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the mixture.
– Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
– Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and browned.

2. **Prepare the Glaze:**
– While the meatballs are baking, prepare the glaze.
– In a medium saucepan, combine the chili sauce, grape jelly, soy sauce, sriracha, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and onion powder.
– Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the jelly is melted and the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened, about 5-7 minutes.

3. **Combine and Serve:**
– Once the meatballs are done baking, transfer them to a large skillet or saucepan.
– Pour the glaze over the meatballs, tossing them gently to coat evenly.
– Cook over low heat for another 5-10 minutes, allowing the meatballs to absorb the glaze and become sticky and flavorful.
– Garnish with chopped red bell pepper and fresh cilantro if desired.
– Serve warm as an appetizer, or with rice or noodles for a main dish.
