Strawberry Mousse Recipe
Ingredients:
– 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
– 1/4 cup granulated sugar
– 1 teaspoon lemon juice
– 1 cup heavy cream, chilled
– 1/4 cup powdered sugar
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– Fresh strawberries and whipped cream for garnish
Instructions:
1. **Prepare the Strawberry Puree:**
– In a blender or food processor, puree the sliced strawberries until smooth.
– Transfer the puree to a saucepan and add the granulated sugar and lemon juice.
– Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens slightly (about 5-7 minutes).
– Remove from heat and let it cool completely.
2. **Whip the Cream:**
– In a large mixing bowl, beat the chilled heavy cream with an electric mixer on medium-high speed until soft peaks form.
– Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, continuing to beat until stiff peaks form.
3. **Combine and Chill:**
– Gently fold the cooled strawberry puree into the whipped cream until well combined.
– Spoon the mixture into serving glasses or bowls.
– Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until set.
4. **Serve:**
– Before serving, garnish with a dollop of whipped cream and a fresh strawberry on top.
