**Ingredients:**

– 4 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
– 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F/45°C)
– 1/4 cup granulated sugar
– 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
– 1 tsp salt
– 1 large egg
– Additional melted butter for brushing

**Instructions:**

1. **Activate the Yeast:**
– In a small bowl, combine warm milk, a tablespoon of sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.

2. **Prepare the Dough:**
– In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, and salt.
– Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a dough forms.

3. **Knead the Dough:**
– Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
– Alternatively, you can use a stand mixer with a dough hook attachment.

4. **First Rise:**
– Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.

5. **Shape the Rolls:**
– Punch down the risen dough and divide it into equal portions (about 15-20 pieces).
– Shape each piece into a ball and place them in a greased baking pan, slightly apart to allow room for rising.

6. **Second Rise:**
– Cover the shaped rolls with a damp cloth and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes, or until doubled in size.
