Seared Steak Cubes with Creamy Mashed Potatoes and Roasted Carrots

 

 

 

Ingredients:

  • For the Steak:
    • 500g steak (such as sirloin or ribeye), cut into cubes
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • Salt and black pepper, to taste
    • Fresh herbs (such as parsley), chopped for garnish
  • For the Mashed Potatoes:
    • 4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 1/4 cup butter
    • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • For the Roasted Carrots:
    • 3 large carrots, peeled and sliced
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven for Carrots:
    • Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Toss the sliced carrots with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread on a baking sheet and roast for 25-30 minutes or until tender and slightly caramelized.
  2. Cook Mashed Potatoes:
    • Boil the potato cubes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and return to the pot.
    • Add milk and butter to the potatoes. Mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Keep warm.
  3. Sear Steak Cubes:
    • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the steak cubes with salt and pepper.
    • Sear the steak cubes for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. Assemble and Serve:
    • Spoon the mashed potatoes onto a plate. Arrange the seared steak cubes on top and drizzle with any pan juices.
