Ingredients:
– 4 large eggs, separated
– 1 cup granulated sugar
– 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, melted
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
– 2 cups milk, lukewarm
– Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions:
1. **Prepare the Oven and Pan:**
– Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
– Grease and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.

– Separate the eggs into two bowls, with the egg whites in one and the yolks in the other.

– Gradually add the flour and mix until smooth.
4. **Incorporate the Milk:**
– Slowly pour in the lukewarm milk while continuing to mix until smooth. The batter will be very thin.

– In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
6. **Combine the Mixtures:**
– Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the batter. The mixture will be lumpy and airy.
7. **Bake the Cake:**
– Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
– Bake for about 50-60 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
8. **Cool and Serve:**
– Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan.
– Once cooled, remove from the pan and cut into squares.
– Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
