**Ingredients:**
– 1 cup cold water
– 1/4 cup sugar (or powdered sugar for a finer texture)
– 2 tablespoons cornstarch
– 2 tablespoons gelatin (unflavored)
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– A pinch of salt
**Instructions:**
1. **Prepare Gelatin Mix:**
– In a small saucepan, combine the cold water and gelatin.
– Let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
– Heat the mixture over low heat, stirring continuously until the gelatin is fully dissolved. Do not let it boil.
– Remove from heat and let it cool slightly but not set.
2. **Create the Base:**
– In a medium saucepan, combine 1/2 cup of the cold water with the cornstarch and sugar.
– Stir the mixture over medium heat until it thickens and becomes translucent. This should take about 5 minutes.
– Remove from heat and let it cool.
