Herbed and Glazed Steak Recipe
Ingredients:
– 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (about 1-inch thick)
– Salt and black pepper, to taste
– 2 tablespoons olive oil
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
– 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
– 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
– 1 tablespoon honey
– 2 tablespoons butter
– 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. **Prepare the Steaks:**
– Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
2. **Make the Herb Mixture:**
– In a small bowl, combine the minced garlic, rosemary, and thyme.
3. **Sear the Steaks:**
– Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and heat until it shimmers.
– Add the steaks to the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until a crust forms and the desired doneness is achieved (for medium-rare, aim for an internal temperature of 135°F / 57°C).
4. **Add the Herb Mixture:**
– During the last minute of cooking, add the garlic-herb mixture to the pan, spooning it over the steaks to coat them with the flavors.
5. **Prepare the Glaze:**
– In a small saucepan, combine the balsamic vinegar and honey. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture reduces and thickens slightly (about 2-3 minutes).

6. **Finish with Butter and Glaze:**
– Remove the steaks from the heat and add butter to the pan, basting the steaks with the melted butter and herb mixture.
– Drizzle the balsamic glaze over the steaks.
7. **Garnish and Serve:**
– Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving. Let the steaks rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
