  • 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and cubed (or 1 cup mango puree)
  • 1 cup heavy cream, chilled
  • 1/4 cup condensed milk (adjust to taste for sweetness)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, to balance the sweetness)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Mango Puree:
    • In a blender or food processor, blend the mango cubes until smooth to create a mango puree.
    • If using pre-made mango puree, measure out 1 cup. Add lemon juice if you prefer a hint of tanginess.
  2. Whip the Cream:
    • In a chilled mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until it forms soft peaks. Be careful not to over-whip, as it can turn grainy.
  3. Combine Mango and Condensed Milk:
    • In a separate bowl, mix the mango puree with condensed milk. Taste the mixture to adjust the sweetness according to your preference.
  4. Fold in the Whipped Cream:
    • Gently fold the whipped cream into the mango-condensed milk mixture, taking care to keep the mousse light and airy. Fold until well combined and smooth.
  5. Chill the Mousse:
    • Pour the mango mousse into serving glasses or a dish, smoothing the top if desired.
    • Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until the mousse is set.
  6. Serve:
    • Serve chilled, and garnish with fresh mango slices, mint leaves, or a sprinkle of grated chocolate, if desired.
