Chocolate Tiramisu
Ingredients:
– **For the coffee syrup:**
– 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
– 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
– 2 tablespoons sugar
– **For the mascarpone filling:**
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 1 cup mascarpone cheese
– 1/2 cup powdered sugar
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– **For the layers:**
– 1 package ladyfingers (about 24-30 pieces)
– 1/2 cup cocoa powder
– 1/2 cup chocolate shavings
Instructions:
1. **Prepare the coffee syrup:**
– Mix the brewed coffee, coffee liqueur (if using), and sugar in a bowl until the sugar is dissolved. Set aside to cool.

2. **Prepare the mascarpone filling:**
– In a large bowl, beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
– In another bowl, mix the mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
– Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.
3. **Assemble the tiramisu:**
– Dip each ladyfinger briefly into the coffee syrup and arrange them in a single layer in the bottom of a 9×13 inch dish.
– Spread half of the mascarpone filling over the ladyfingers.
– Sift a layer of cocoa powder over the mascarpone filling.
– Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone filling.
– Sift another layer of cocoa powder on top and sprinkle with chocolate shavings.
4. **Chill and serve:**
– Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
– Serve chilled and enjoy!
