Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars
Ingredients:
For the Peanut Butter Layer:
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup crushed graham crackers or crispy rice cereal (for added crunch)
For the Chocolate Topping:
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter
Instructions:
- Prepare the Peanut Butter Layer:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, peanut butter, and powdered sugar. Stir until smooth.
- Fold in the crushed graham crackers or crispy rice cereal for texture.
- Press the mixture into an even layer in an 8×8-inch baking pan lined with parchment paper.
- Make the Chocolate Topping:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and peanut butter.
- Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring each time until smooth and fully melted.
- Pour the chocolate mixture over the peanut butter layer and spread it out evenly.
- Set and Serve:
- Place the pan in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or until the bars are firm.
- Once set, cut into squares and serve.
