Chocolate Cheesecake Dessert Recipe

 

 

 

Ingredients:

  • For the Chocolate Cake Layer:
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
    • 1 large egg
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • For the Cheesecake Layer:
    • 2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
    • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the Ganache:
    • 1 cup heavy cream
    • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • Garnish:
    • Fresh raspberries
    • Mint leaves
    • Optional: chocolate pieces or shavings

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chocolate Cake:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
    • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
    • Add milk, oil, egg, and vanilla to the flour mixture and beat until well combined.
    • Carefully stir in boiling water to thin the batter. Pour into the prepared cake pan.
    • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
    • Allow to cool completely.
  2. Make the Cheesecake Layer:
    • Reduce oven temperature to 325°F (160°C).
    • In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, beating until just combined.
    • Pour this mixture over the cooled cake layer in the pan.
    • Bake for about 20-25 minutes until set. Let it cool and then refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
  3. Prepare the Chocolate Ganache:
    • Heat the cream in a small saucepan until it just begins to simmer; do not let it boil.
    • Remove from heat and pour over the chocolate chips. Let sit for one minute, then stir until smooth and glossy.
    • Pour the ganache over the chilled cheesecake layer, spreading to cover completely.
  4. Garnish and Serve:
    • Just before serving, decorate the top with fresh raspberries, mint leaves, and chocolate shavings if desired.
    • Let the ganache set slightly before slicing.
