Chocolate Cheesecake Dessert Recipe
Ingredients:
- For the Chocolate Cake Layer:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- For the Cheesecake Layer:
- 2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- For the Ganache:
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- Garnish:
- Fresh raspberries
- Mint leaves
- Optional: chocolate pieces or shavings
Instructions:
- Prepare the Chocolate Cake:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add milk, oil, egg, and vanilla to the flour mixture and beat until well combined.
- Carefully stir in boiling water to thin the batter. Pour into the prepared cake pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool completely.
- Make the Cheesecake Layer:
- Reduce oven temperature to 325°F (160°C).
- In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, beating until just combined.
- Pour this mixture over the cooled cake layer in the pan.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes until set. Let it cool and then refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
- Prepare the Chocolate Ganache:
- Heat the cream in a small saucepan until it just begins to simmer; do not let it boil.
- Remove from heat and pour over the chocolate chips. Let sit for one minute, then stir until smooth and glossy.
- Pour the ganache over the chilled cheesecake layer, spreading to cover completely.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Just before serving, decorate the top with fresh raspberries, mint leaves, and chocolate shavings if desired.
- Let the ganache set slightly before slicing.
This dessert is a true showstopper, combining the richness of chocolate with the creamy tang of cheesecake. It’s perfect for special occasions or whenever you want to treat yourself to something decadently special!
