 **Chocolate Cake**

  Ingredients:

– **All-purpose flour**: 1 3/4 cups (220g)
– **Granulated sugar**: 2 cups (400g)
– **Cocoa powder**: 3/4 cup (65g), unsweetened
– **Baking powder**: 1 1/2 teaspoons
– **Baking soda**: 1 1/2 teaspoons
– **Salt**: 1 teaspoon
– **Eggs**: 2 large
– **Whole milk**: 1 cup (240ml)
– **Vegetable oil**: 1/2 cup (120ml)
– **Vanilla extract**: 2 teaspoons
– **Boiling water**: 1 cup (240ml)

 Chocolate Frosting Ingredients:

– **Unsalted butter**: 1/2 cup (115g), softened
– **Cocoa powder**: 3/4 cup (65g), unsweetened
– **Powdered sugar**: 3 cups (360g)
– **Whole milk**: 1/3 cup (80ml)
– **Vanilla extract**: 1 teaspoon

 Instructions:

Make the Chocolate Cake:
1. **Preheat the Oven:**
– Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch (23cm) round cake pans, and line the bottoms with parchment paper.

2. **Mix the Dry Ingredients:**
– In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. **Add the Wet Ingredients:**
– Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until the batter is smooth, about 2 minutes.

4. **Add the Boiling Water:**
– Carefully stir in the boiling water. The batter will be thin, but that’s okay. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.

– Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove them from the pans and let them cool completely on a wire rack.
