  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup (40 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup mixed nuts (optional), chopped
  • Melted chocolate for coating
  • Chopped nuts for coating

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Biscuits:
    • Place the broken biscuits in a large bowl. You can use any type of plain or mildly sweet biscuits or cookies.
  2. Make Chocolate Syrup:
    • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
    • Add sugar, cocoa powder, and milk. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and begins to thicken.
    • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
    • Pour this hot chocolate mixture over the broken biscuits in the bowl. Mix well until all the biscuit pieces are coated.
  3. Shape the Salami:
    • Lay out a piece of plastic wrap or parchment paper.
    • Spoon the biscuit mixture onto the wrap, forming a log shape.
    • Roll it up tightly, twisting the ends to secure. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until firm.
  4. Coat with Chocolate and Nuts:
    • Once firm, unwrap the salami.
    • Brush or dip the log in melted chocolate, then roll it in chopped nuts.
    • Allow the chocolate to set slightly, then rewrap in clean plastic wrap and chill again to set completely.
  5. Serve:
    • Slice the salami into rounds to serve.
    • The dessert can be kept in the refrigerator and is best served chilled.
