Chocolate Biscuit Salami Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1/2 lb (225 g) plain biscuits or cookies, roughly broken
- 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter
- 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup (40 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup mixed nuts (optional), chopped
- Melted chocolate for coating

Instructions:
- Prepare Biscuits:
- Place the broken biscuits in a large bowl. You can use any type of plain or mildly sweet biscuits or cookies.
- Make Chocolate Syrup:
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add sugar, cocoa powder, and milk. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and begins to thicken.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Pour this hot chocolate mixture over the broken biscuits in the bowl. Mix well until all the biscuit pieces are coated.
- Shape the Salami:
- Lay out a piece of plastic wrap or parchment paper.
- Spoon the biscuit mixture onto the wrap, forming a log shape.
- Roll it up tightly, twisting the ends to secure. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until firm.
- Coat with Chocolate and Nuts:
- Once firm, unwrap the salami.
- Brush or dip the log in melted chocolate, then roll it in chopped nuts.
- Allow the chocolate to set slightly, then rewrap in clean plastic wrap and chill again to set completely.
- Serve:
- Slice the salami into rounds to serve.
- The dessert can be kept in the refrigerator and is best served chilled.
