– 4-5 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced

– 1 cup milk

**Instructions:**

1. **Preheat the Oven:**
– Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a large baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.

2. **Prepare the Cheese Sauce:**
– In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk continuously for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
– Gradually whisk in the milk and heavy cream, stirring until the mixture thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
– Stir in the shredded cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Continue to stir until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.

3. **Layer the Casserole:**
– Arrange half of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

– Add the remaining sliced potatoes on top, followed by the remaining cheese sauce.
