Cheesy Hamburger Casserole
**Ingredients:**
– 1 lb ground beef
– 1 medium onion, chopped
– 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed tomato soup
– 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
– 1/2 tsp garlic powder
– 1/2 tsp onion powder
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 8 slices of sandwich bread (white or wheat)
– 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
**Instructions:**
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. Drain any excess fat.
3. Add the tomato soup, tomato sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
4. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
5. Arrange 4 slices of bread on the bottom of the baking dish, cutting as necessary to cover the bottom completely.
6. Spread half of the beef mixture over the bread layer.
7. Sprinkle one cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the beef mixture.
8. Repeat with another layer of bread slices, the remaining beef mixture, and the remaining cheese on top.
9. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
11. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
