Cheesy Ground Beef Casserole
Ingredients:
– 1 lb ground beef
– 1 medium onion, chopped
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
– 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
– 1 tsp Italian seasoning
– 1/2 tsp salt
– 1/4 tsp black pepper
– 2 cups cooked pasta (such as penne or elbow macaroni)
– 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
– 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
1. **Preheat Oven**: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. **Cook Beef**: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
3. **Add Onion and Garlic**: Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is soft.
4. **Add Tomatoes and Seasonings**: Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
5. **Combine with Pasta**: Add the cooked pasta to the meat mixture and stir until well combined.
6. **Assemble Casserole**: In a large baking dish, spread half of the pasta mixture. Sprinkle half of the cheddar and mozzarella cheese over the top. Repeat with the remaining pasta mixture and cheese.
7. **Bake**: Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
8. **Serve**: Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
