Cheesy Mushroom Dip Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (cremini or button mushrooms work well)
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Sauté the Mushrooms:
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for 5-7 minutes until they are golden brown and tender.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant. Season with a little salt and pepper.
- Set aside a few slices of mushrooms for garnish, if desired.
- Prepare the Dip Mixture:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Mix until smooth.
- Add the shredded mozzarella, Parmesan, and the sautéed mushrooms (except the ones reserved for garnish).
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Bake the Dip:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Transfer the mixture to an oven-safe dish and spread it evenly.
- Top with the reserved mushroom slices.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until the dip is bubbly and the cheese is melted and golden.
- Serve:
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
- Serve hot with crackers, toasted baguette slices, or vegetables for dipping.
