Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for coating)
  • Whole almonds (for topping)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
    • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  2. Chill the Dough:
    • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the dough for at least 1 hour (or up to overnight). Chilling helps the dough firm up, making it easier to roll and creating the signature crinkle effect.
  3. Shape the Cookies:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • Scoop a small amount of dough (about 1 tablespoon) and roll it into a ball. Repeat with the remaining dough.
    • Roll each ball in powdered sugar until completely coated, then place them on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
  4. Add Almonds:
