Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, divided
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • Additional chocolate chips and chopped nuts for topping

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, allowing some overhang for easy removal.
  2. Melt Butter and Chocolate:
    • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
    • Add 3/4 cup chocolate chips and stir until melted and smooth.
    • Remove from heat.
  3. Mix Batter:
    • Stir sugar into the melted chocolate mixture until well combined.
    • Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
    • Sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt; gradually fold into the chocolate mixture.
    • Stir in the remaining 1/4 cup chocolate chips and chopped walnuts.
  4. Bake:
    • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
    • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  5. Add Toppings and Drizzle:
    • As soon as you remove the brownies from the oven, sprinkle additional chocolate chips and nuts over the top.
    • Return to the oven for about 1 minute, just long enough to melt the chocolate chips slightly.
    • Remove from oven and use a knife or spatula to swirl the melted chips gently.
  6. Cool and Serve:
    • Let the brownies cool completely in the pan set on a wire rack.
    • Lift out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang.
    • Drizzle with melted chocolate for a glossy finish.
    • Cut into squares and serve.
